The backstory here is that the Squamish people of what is now Vancouver were illegally dispossessed of this land a century ago. They sued, got their land back, and are using their sovereignty to ignore local zoning rules and build 6,000 new homes over the objections of nearby wealthy NIMBYs.

Finally checked the Use Native Pipe Operator RStudio
#rstats
option. For those constantly piping into [Vv]iew(), a small advantage to the native pipe is that the 'title' argument gets automatically supplied as the function call instead of the cryptic '.' from magrittr.

Inside the NBA was neither informative nor entertaining. The emperor’s new clothes of sports shows. If I wanted to listen to a bunch of petty republican bullies spew nonsense I’d turn on Fox News.

This is the education plank of the plot to enslave America: secular private academies for the rich, religious instruction for the middle class, and a prison-like rump of public schools for the poor. With our Constitution in tatters, they're racing to implement it

Thinking about Disco Elysium. Harry is somehow both a singular individual and “Everyman” like from a morality play. A work of true genius, on par with Shakespeare, Homer, Tolstoy, Twain, etc.

I think we did a tremendous disservice downplaying Wikipedia as a source for the last 20 years. Paved the way for people treating LLMs as encyclopedias.

Working exclusively within {targets}
#rstats
projects has made internal packages kind of irrelevant and even cumbersome. They're annoying to track w/{renv}, and if a function gets updated you have to reinstall a separate package before rerunning. Easier to just throw custom fns into R/utils.R.

The fact is Newsom could've used his influence as governor to support radical housing production bills like SB 827 but sat on the sidelines and now the housing shortage is so bad and construction costs so high he's blaming local cities for having encampments.

Waymo is peak American innovation. With way less money they could have built a reliable public transport network, but instead someone was like "what if we could find a way for empty vehicles to contribute to traffic too? There's no reason we can't have more cars on the road than there are drivers"

Turn a GitHub repo into a single text file for LLM-friendly input: app takes a GitHub repo URL, displays the directory structure, lets you choose which files to include, and provides a single plain text file you can feed into any LLM.

The number of columns in a new 'report' is directly proportional to the requester's lack of clarity and direction. Ask for 35+ columns? I know you don't know what you're doing.

Evidence has demonstrated this effect in numerous cities now. I understand why it sounds weird to say, 'building a bunch of fancy new townhouses and skyscrapers will make housing more affordable!' but it simply appears to be true.

As many have noted, there is a conspicuous and intriguingly lack of “smelling-specific” words in English (e.g. stink, fragrant). I would read the hell out of this thesis.

People rightfully complain about the lack of density around Golden Gate Park, but IMO an even larger disgrace is Wilson Park in Cupertino. Beautiful park with the best 🏀 court, ample shaded grassy areas, and awesome playgrounds. All barely used. A colossal waste. Cupertino doesn’t deserve it.
