Finally checked the Use Native Pipe Operator RStudio #rstats option. For those constantly piping into [Vv]iew(), a small advantage to the native pipe is that the 'title' argument gets automatically supplied as the function call instead of the cryptic '.' from magrittr.

I would be curious to learn more about LLM code biases. A coworker handed me an #rstats script by Claude and it was littered with {reshape2} and require(), like a time capsule from 2013.

A portion of my work is now preparing data to be consumed by AI for adhoc analyses, analyses which would've come to me... #nooticing

Working exclusively within {targets} #rstats projects has made internal packages kind of irrelevant and even cumbersome. They're annoying to track w/{renv}, and if a function gets updated you have to reinstall a separate package before rerunning. Easier to just throw custom fns into R/utils.R.

I'm letting {hacksaw} 📦 slide off CRAN--I think updates to the tidyverse have mostly obviated the package's utility, sans the obvious exception of keep_na(). Twas a fun #rstats project for awhile.

As many have noted, there is a conspicuous and intriguingly lack of “smelling-specific” words in English (e.g. stink, fragrant). I would read the hell out of this thesis.

People rightfully complain about the lack of density around Golden Gate Park, but IMO an even larger disgrace is Wilson Park in Cupertino. Beautiful park with the best 🏀 court, ample shaded grassy areas, and awesome playgrounds. All barely used. A colossal waste. Cupertino doesn’t deserve it.
