My friend Tim Walz has been a champion for all Americans since our days together in Congress, and as governor, he’s proven that leadership and courage from elected leaders saves lives. I’m honored to support his reelection and look forward to continuing to fight for a safer Minnesota.

One year ago today, two people were shot and killed at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Wisconsin. Multiple others were injured and an entire community was forever changed. Our hearts are with the victims, survivors, and their families as they continue to grieve this tragic day.

On the first night of Hanukkah, Mark and I are thinking of all the families impacted by the mass shooting today in Sydney, Australia.

13 years ago, 20 children and 6 educators never came home from Sandy Hook Elementary School. They were killed in their classrooms in a shooting that changed our nation forever.

My heart breaks for Brown University. Students should only have to worry about studying for finals right now, not hiding from gunfire.

Why do I keep going? Because I want to make the world a better place. We keep fighting, Not out of anger, but out of hope.

Each year, @giffords.org grades gun laws in all 50 states. And each year, the data shows states with effective gun laws have fewer gun deaths. We know how to save lives and prevent gun violence in our communities. It's time to act.

Four years ago, four students went to school and never came home. Seven more were injured and an entire community was left devastated. My heart is with the victims, students, and teachers of Oxford. I’ll always fight to make sure no other family feels this pain.

This is horrific — a children’s birthday party on a holiday weekend became the scene of a mass shooting. My heart is with the families of those killed, the injured, and all the survivors. We need our federal leaders to act. Kids shouldn’t fear for their lives at their own birthday parties.

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom deserved a long, full life. My heart is with her family, friends, and fellow servicemembers. Gun violence steals too many futures. We must honor her by fighting for a safer country where all Americans are protected from gun violence.

This Thanksgiving, I’m grateful for many things, including the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona. Earlier this week, I stopped by to meet with staff preparing meals for families in our community. Their work is making Southern Arizona a better place for all ♥️

I’m glad to see updated reports and praying for the two National Guard members who are in critical condition. My heart is with their families as they go through this unthinkable pain.

My heart is with the National Guard members shot and killed near the White House today and their families who are left to grieve — the day before Thanksgiving. These shootings are senseless and frequent. They impact everyone. We have to do more.

My favorite day of the year ♥️🚴🌵 After I got shot, I never could have imagined getting back on my bike and racing through my beautiful hometown. El Tour de Tucson will always hold a special place in my heart. 32 miles has nothing on us!

We need champions in Congress who will fight for the American people and take meaningful action to save lives. These candidates have the strength and clarity to do that and will help us build a safer future for all. I’m proud to support them in their critical elections.

My husband @captmarkkelly.bsky.social is a 25-year Navy combat pilot veteran. He served our country with strength, courage, and integrity. The President called him a traitor and demanded he be executed. It is dangerous and wrong. Americans need to stand up and say so.

This Transgender Day of Remembrance, we honor the lives stolen from us in violent acts of hate and bigotry. At least 27 trans people were killed this year according to @transequality.bsky.social, and many of them died by gun violence. America’s gun violence epidemic is fueling this crisis.

Three years ago today, a night of dancing turned tragic when a gunman opened fire at Club Q in a targeted attack against the LGBTQ+ community. Five beautiful lives were stolen, more than 20 were injured, and an entire community was forever changed.

Gun violence affects people everywhere. I was glad to join @iowademocrats.bsky.social and Chair Rita Hart to honor her nephew Tucker and work to build a safer world for all of us.

It was an honor to speak at last night’s @iowademocrats.bsky.social’s Liberty & Justice celebration. We’re at a crossroads. America needs all of us to speak out. It’s all at stake: safer communities, the health care families depend on, and our democracy. Iowa is energized and ready to get to work.

My friend @pelosi.house.gov has served our country with grit, courage, and integrity. She stood with me after I was shot and she stood up for our country when the stakes were highest. Her leadership has been unmatched, and America is stronger because of her.

Gun safety wins elections. Last night’s overwhelming victories proved exactly that. We’re proud to have supported so many fierce gun safety champions on the campaign trail who won important races last night. With their leadership, we know a safer future is possible.

Red flag laws save lives. We’re glad to see this ballot measure pass tonight, two years after a shooter killed 18 people & injured 13 others in Lewiston. Now, Mainers will have another tool to keep their loved ones who are a danger to themselves or others from accessing a gun in a time of crisis.

Seven years later and my heart continues to ache for the 11 people killed and 6 others injured at Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life Synagogue. They were shot as they prayed for no other reason than because they were Jewish. May their memories forever be a blessing.

Today, I joined Gov. Tim Walz and hundreds of Minnesotans in Waconia for a town hall on preventing gun violence. After the shootings this summer, the governor and state legislative leaders proposed important reform to save lives. We must pass that package, now.

Today, I’m thinking of Lewiston, Maine, where two years ago, a night of bowling, corn hole, and catching up with neighbors turned deadly because a dangerous person had a gun. Eighteen people were killed, 13 others were wounded, and an entire community was irrevocably changed.

I remember what it meant to finally leave the hospital—the relief mixed with uncertainty about what comes next. I’m so grateful Sophia has reached this milestone and I’m praying for her and her family as they continue their recovery journey. Sending so much love your way, Sophia ♥️

Over 700,000 southern Arizonans still don’t have representation in Congress, more than three weeks after we elected @adelitaforcongress.bsky.social. Democracy means honoring the will of the people. Speaker Johnson must do the right thing and swear her in so she can get to work.

My heart aches for the 60 people killed eight years ago today at the Route 91 Harvest music festival in Las Vegas—and the hundreds more who were injured. No family should ever carry this pain.

Today’s news of a shooting in Grand Blanc, Michigan attacking the Latter-day Saints community during worship is devastating. Families deserve safety wherever they are, but being targeted while practicing one’s faith is especially horrific.

Today I met with Colorado lawmakers, community violence intervention advocates, and the recipients of the @giffords.org 2025 Lifesaving Service Award: Life-Line Colorado. Community violence intervention saves lives, and we need more leaders like the ones I met today.

I know what it means to be shot in the head, to have doctors say survival is unlikely, and to fight for every step of recovery. Hearing that 12-year-old Sophia is healing is a miracle. I’m praying for her recovery and for the strength of her family 💜

My heart breaks for the victims of this morning’s shooting at a Dallas ICE facility. On top of enduring this administration’s cruel and inhumane immigration policy, these families have now seen loved ones killed or injured in a violent and awful way.

As we gather to welcome Rosh Hashanah, I feel deep gratitude for the gift of a new year. Every sunrise, every turn of the calendar, is a reminder that life is fragile—and precious. ✡️🍎🍯
