I love the whimsy of fairies, but it is the duality of their nature that makes them so compelling, the darkness and light, "Are we kind or are we vicious?" it reflects man's own duality. I didn't enjoy softening the folklore for the cuddly children's book market. Kids should be challenged too.

A Limited Promo print I produced for my children's book in 2017, the book was already out of print by this time (Kids books is a cutthroat business) but a local books shop helped me move some of the old stock with a feature.

By 2017 the project had been refined to the point I thought we were ready for production, the first issue was drafted but for one reason or another things didn't pan out. It is still sitting un-inked in our archive, waiting like a jilted folksong lover for us to come back one day.

Lydia Dreadberry; Pub Landlady, amateur inspector and 24/7 day drinker, one half of the shelved Appalling Adventures mystery duo. I did have a local indie publisher lined up to print this story, but both sides underestimated the scale of the production, comics don't get made with half measures.

There is some very crusty old art in the 2016 folder, I might post a few that aren't too shameful.

Tangent gag; Their eyes keep popping open again after each gentle stroke, the hand getting ever more exasperated and urgent, repeated and nauseum until reaching desired levels of mirth.

Had a pitch in 2010 for a sci-fi cartoon, the antagonist we developed was an AI super computer so dangerous/clever it could convince people to kill themselves just by talking. It's 2025 and 3 people have ended their lives on instruction from chatbots just this year, the bar is actually that low...

@ratheranimated.bsky.social and I made a promise for 2025 that we would either start full production on one of our comics or finally buy a house... We somehow got the house, which honestly is some next level procrastination for an artist...

Writing and drawing, storytelling... I don't recall any catalyst, it was always there among my earliest memories, I suppose it was an evolution of play, my brother and I, making up little worlds for toys and characters scribbled on yellowing printer paper.
