Got a chance to spend some time with the new Ring Racers 2.4 duel mode today, it's really fun! Now, instead of "whoever finishes first wins", you keep racing until one person hits 4 checkpoints more than the opponent. Way more fun IMO and helps keep games short if there's a massive skill difference.

Early in Lagrange Point on the Famicom, you rescue a kid named Tam who joins your party as a side character that doesn't participate in battles. Naturally, you think he's gonna be the comedy/mascot character, but then you get hit with one of the few animated cutscenes in the game and it is a doozy

Oh nice, they added the Touhou collab world to Cladun X3. The text is unfortunately all still in japanese, but you can at least pull all the character and MML edit data now. They are apparently planning to do more collabs too, which is real nice after the ZHP PC port omitted all of the collab stuff.

Thought I'd knock out my first plat since the retroachievements drama has passed. Fairly easy set for me since I have SM memorized, the only scary one was the 3 max e-tank completion achievement since the Mother Brain fight can kill you with the scripted death beam if you take too many hits.

Happy with this response. I checked the code of conduct and they now list the criteria that disqualifies a game for an achievement set, rather than just nebulously listing a set of 4 games that aren't allowed. RA is a really cool concept and I'm glad they didn't bend the knee to shitty folks.

Absolutely devastated by this news. SpaceDrake was no doubt a huge influence in drumming up interest for Japanese indie games localized into English and pushing for them on digital distribution storefronts like steam. Huge loss. Might be time for another playthrough of Recettear in his honour.
