Here we all are at the ANZPATH biennial conference held in Adelaide in 2014. This was the first time trans advocates were invited to a ANZPATH event. I told the former ANZPATH president he simply could never devise a effective health care policy without including the people it is meant to help.

Want to know what happened the last time a cisgender man tried to take over health care services for trans people in Australia? This happened where the President of ANZPATH himself came begging me for help when everything ended up in shambles.

No cisgender person will ever be 'a leading voice' or 'expert' on trans people, our human rights, or medical services. Nowadays we have many trans people with real lived experience who are also medical professionals, leading academics, legal experts. A cisgender man has no such say in anything!
