I do think yesterday’s results reinforced the dynamic that while much of the American leadership class is chickenshit, most of the electorate is not

I care less about Signal chats and more about the blacksite offshore concentration camps we're sending random people to without any semblance of a trial, so I'll be interested to see if the national media can rub their bellies and pat their heads at the same time this week. Historically they can't.

DOGE has reportedly gained access to sensitive NLRB data — including info on union activity, workplace complaints, and names of organizers. Coincidentally, the NLRB has multiple lawsuits against SpaceX and Tesla. The conflicts of interest just keep getting more blatant.

A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die. Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

This has always been the GOP's strategy: 1) Cut taxes for the wealthy & corporations by claiming they'll pay for themselves. 2) Explode the deficit. 3) Demand cuts to vital programs that help millions. 4) Repeat. They're trying to get away with it again.

Gresham's law of the internet is the name given to a supposition that unmoderated spaces will always become Nazi hellholes that drive out all good content, alienating posters who aren't Nazis. I can certainly think of one analogue for all of us here on Bluesky.

Content moderation isn’t “censorship.” It’s what built the Internet.
