This is so obvious it should almost go without saying. That it needs pointing out shows just what a terrible job Labour are doing. Why they keep attempting to outflank the unflankable when Reform have glaring vulnerablities elsewhere is a mystery

Give a man a fish and someone with a thousand fishes is going to bitch about people getting free handouts. Teach a man to fish? Yeah, that person with a thousand fishes is going to bitch about that too.

I'll be very surprised if this doesn't do a clean sweep of every AOTY list of 2025, and deservedly so.

Accidentally did a short drive in my office glasses with no longer distance vision. Was amazed that everything in the wing mirror was in perfect focus. For some reason this has shaken my fundamental understanding of life, the universe and everything. I am but a mewling baby, born anew.

First time I've not seen it described as a war in MSM. Bit late, but it's important for framing what's happened over the last 2 years. TWO YEARS?!?!?!

Geese - Getting Killed Will definitely be in my top 10 this year. I'd never heard of them, but it's brilliant, slightly janky, layered, melodious Rock. I get the feeling the singer's Clap Your Hands Say Yeah adjecent vocals might wind people up, but I loved that and I absolutely love this.

Scaler - Endlessly: real drums and guitars underpin a dark moody, ocassionally squelchy production for an updated trip hop sound. If you ever wanted Massive Attack to flirt with Evanescence, it's for you.

Stumbled upon this album from a French DJ/Producer in 1999. A curious mix of classical, opera, jazz, saharan funk, chilled beats, spoken poetry and hip hop, it 's a more satisfying and cogent listen than that description suggests.

Interesting choice of album title I must say. To be honest it reminds me more of 70s and early 80s TV musical interludes. Think Starsky and Hutch

Watched Dirty Harry with youngest this weekend. It's a bit shit. Aside from the "maverick cop ignores bleedin heart libs to solve all problems with macho violence" schtick ageing incredibly well or badly given your view on the death of US democracy, it has all the dynamism of a neighbours episode.

Listening to this for the first time in 15 years. Propulsive, dub-tinged hooky pop punk, lyrically laden with an angst peculiar to life in a characterless London satellite town. Album holds up really well.

The lads have some very good players, but they do keep finding ways to make sure the opposition have the upper hand. The whole gamut was here, cede possession in front of your own goal? check. Daft tackle followed by red card? check. Anyway, Rory dun good.

Blimey, between this and the amoc collapse, things aren't looking great. Everything is normal until it's suddenly not. The spectaclarly damaging rearguard actions and political distractions of capitalism are truly the proverbial fiddling (no epstein pun intended).
