Just finished reading back through my post-apocalyptic sci-fi horror in reverse order. @lrlam.bsky.social suggested that way of editing, and it really works! It was a really great exercise to experience the story/structure in a new way. I ended up chopping and changing more than I thought.

Random snap from the British Museum but not as random as you might think. I visited this saintly fellow again recently after he actually visited me in a nightmare, coming to life out of the stone! Have no doubts it's made it into a horror story!

This absolutely fascinates me: www.nature.com/articles/s41... Cave art is a big part of the sci-fi/ancient history mythology I'm including in my WIP novels. The blending of petroglyphs and the possible symbology of giant footprints is so compelling to insert into the worldbuilding I've already done!

Even if I didn't volunteer with English Heritage, I'd be saying how much you should support them and consider membership. It's worthwhile for free entry into a whole host of interesting places wherever you are in England, or if you're visiting somewhere like Hadrian's Wall! They do such great work.
