Something I have increasingly reflected on is how bar-centric UK fur meets are. I wish UK regional meets would consider more US-style diversity: going to parks, bowling, shopping, shows, concerts - the list goes on. I don't mind bars, but they are far less interesting than other activities.

I think there is a problem for the US polity, in that the MAGA base has been conditioned to embrace conspiracy theories. With Epstein, they were promised the ultimate validation of such a theory. Now that they can't have it, they are not too pleased. And nobody knows how to handle that.

I think the poison of misinformation is illustrative of how prone to conspiracy the human mind is when operating in the realm of complexity and the unknown. E.g. the widespread misinformation on Air India 171: fake AI-generated accident reports; people making definitive statements as to cause.

I’ve just returned from a trip to Minneapolis which was booked 6 months ago, and which events since have threatened to derail multiple times. I am so glad my hosts were generous and patient enough with me to make it happen anyway; I had a fantastic weekend!

Near my parents' place in FL there is a MAGA family who replaced all their cars with Teslas, displayed proudly on their driveway. I will be interested to see if they keep the Teslas (and show greater political affiliation to Musk), or if they trade out (thus showing greater affiliation to Trump).

After 5 months my treadmill has finally been repaired, and I am getting back into my routine. Before it broke, I was worried I needed to change things up because it was all feeling too effortless or repetitive. Instead, now, my body is feeling its lack of conditioning! Maybe the break was needed.

There are lots of US media now speaking about a Biden cover-up as though it is a scandal. The effects of Biden's health issues were plain to see. That the media did not call it out at the time is the scandal; the 'cover-up' was facilitated by the very media now calling it out!

I agree with the quote. The US has an odd proclivity for seeing Russia as an equal rival, when this has not been the case for a long time (if ever?). In any case, this is now magnified; and entirely contradictory to speak of American strength while portraying parity between the two governments.
