@toji.dev I'm trying to hook up WebGPU on WebXR in three.js using my Galaxy XR. The first frame always comes in with a null XRFame. Is that a known issue? Also, the browser doesn't always show the immersive scene even though I'm producing frames.

After two days at Meta Connect, where I tried on the new Meta Ray-Ban Display, I visited the Computer History Museum and saw relics like the first mouse and keyboard and the first web server. Just a few decades of steady, incremental progress separate these devices. Play the long game.

My recent Quest 2 optimizations for 'In Tirol' resulted in cool new visuals in a few places The mechanical theatre of Schloss Hellbrunn 🖌️ hand-painted vertex color ➡️ emissive channel (on top of diffuse) ➡️ randomized intensity every few frames 🚨 plus highly performant

The PWA in-app purchases discussed here is a step in the right direction, but very glad @uploadvr.com captured this perspective. Meta Quest and its browser needs a trusted OS-level wallet for it to move beyond niche gaming console status

WebXR apps packaged as PWAs on the Meta Horizon Store can now use in-app payments, letting web developers monetize their experiences:

Inching toward a key feature for intirol.game but Meta had a bad month for reliability. OS bugs mean WebXR entry/re-entry randomly stalls, controllers won't render, & the home env locks up on session end. Respect to their teams, this stack is monumentally complex, but I'm eagerly awaiting a hotfix!
