Ottawa is famous for its music friendly pub time machines… Irene’s is 40+ years old and hasn’t changed much minus a post removal and sound upgrade. And then there’s the Manx, who’ve just upgraded their sound and are doing more shows. Honoured to play a solo set there tonight along w/ Eamon McGrath.

And just like that it’s almost March… and a rare solo acoustic set this Sunday eve at Manx pub sharing a bill with the hardest working man in indie rock, Eamon McGrath. I think the last time we played together in Ottawa was Bluesfest like 15 years ago and last time i played the Manx was even longer.

Playing an intimate show at the Manx Pub in Ottawa March 1 w/ pal Eamon McGrath. I first met Eamon when he opened our show in Edmonton back in 2006. Once he started playing my favourite Silver Joos song I knew we’d get along. Shortly thereafter we were on the same label sharing tours across Canada.

Octoberman debut ‘these trails are old and new’ was born 20 yrs ago today. Thanks to the amazing people involved. It’s a real trip to think back to this time… lots of tracking in James Henderson’s home studio and setting up in random places to capture sounds. Lots of collabes but overall minimal.
