Lots of great work has been done on populism in world politics, but there's still lot to do to understand the international implications of the far-right. Similarly to Tarik's point, these parties don't just want nationalist policies and less cooperation. They target global governance mechanisms.

Good thread. Agree Meloni is good at politics and the vacuum around her has helped elevate her. But this means that she is *seemingly* strong, bc the rest of 🇪🇺 is abominably weak. Sure she wins political points, but not sure this advances 🇮🇹 interests per se. She will just sell Europe if she has to.

A lot of places say that by hiring junior (AP) women they will eventually have reached gender equality by generational change. Yet, lots of women get stuck at lower ranked positions and a non-trivial amount eventually leave the academy, leaving full profs gender ratios still completely unbalanced.
