you know i was doomed with this book regardless of anything else because the main dude found a gun and left it there because he doesn't know how to use a gun and his love interest was overpowered off screen and then whined about how he doesn't know how to fight

i finished and just... maaaaaaaaaaaaaaan good prose and humor, a fairly tense plot and some colorful characters but i really felt talked down to by the story at times. very "the author is scared of their readers" and yet the author didn't notice the misogyny they were adding in.

i should say the book is "All Us Murderers" feeling very mixed things right now
