#MayWorldbuilders D15: It's all about procreation. Holdrens don't mate for love (though it's VERY rare they mate with someone they dislike). They are looking for a partner to raise cubs with, which usually means one they feel has "good genes" that will mix with theirs to bring something to the pack.

#AwesomeCharacters Sundale is MANY light years from his homeworld. And he travels all over the part of the galaxy that is known... of which his homeworld is not. Xyera... I don't know where her "home" is. She has a lair she sticks pretty close to except when hunting. Not sure if it's "home" or not.

#AwesomeCharacters We have Yarain, Sundale's mom, in the Gold 1 series. She's a side character, but very much with her own arc through the books so far. In "Luna", there is of course Luna's mom, who plays a moderate part in events as they unfold.

It's believed that Sundale is the last "energon", or pure energy Holdren. Or rather, was going to be. Before some accident prevented his transformation from an orgigon (part flesh part energy) from proceeding. No one knows why, but they either died out or stopped changing.

#AwesomeCharacters For Sundale, it's a moment in wild utterly untouched by civilization. No lights. No roads. Not even a worn path. Just untapped nature, where he can connect with the wild fox he never really got to be. And yes, he does at times.

#AwesomeCharacters Untapped nature. Kind of a broad one, but well... when you're a fox that has had almost no time being the wild Holdren you were born to be, the smell of any 100% space is a rare treat.

#MayWorldbuilders D6: The only written language we see so far is English. I never describe any other yet. That said, for the Jantan language, I have some idea about it being dots and scrapes almost like braille, and is read top to bottom, as if it is made by a jantan walking in rows.

#AwesomeCharacters Tough one actually. Depends massively not just on the insult, but how it is given. Sundale is well trained thanks to an academy teacher who knew he'd face intentional and not insults. He'll glare and growl, maybe even bite AT, but not land it. But generally, he'll keep his head.

#MayWorldbuilders D3: "First Parent/Mother/Father" It's the term for the lead of a Holdren pack. Sounds straight forward, until you remember that packs are a family, not a hierarchy. So often they are also just the parents of the pack. Though they do allow others to breed more than wolves.

#MayWorldbuilders D2: Holdrens will greet by sniffing cheek glands, though if one is trying to meet the pack that controls a territory, they will give a specific set of calls that is like ringing the doorbell. A way to announce yourself that won't get you killed, though you may be told to leave.

#MayWorldbuilders D1: I'm late! Most either speak English, or have translator technology. The Holdren "language" is more akin to animal speak, though I sometimes think there is an actual language there for them. I don't have a name for the Marcallan language... yet, but it's made up entirely.
