I don't quite know how I would have got through this last couple of weeks without @thatidiotmonro.bsky.social. I thought I was strong, but turns out I'm far from it and having him there to hold me has kept the darkness grief brings a way a little bit. I got to find my soulmate and he's wonderful.

Yesterday afternoon, whilst holding my hand and that of my stepmother. The best Daddy in the entire world passed away. Brian MacDonald was a truly good man, and at 82 years 11 months kept his promise to a little me to live forever as best he could. My heart is broken but his suffering is over.

Trying to write what I will say at my Dad's funeral in front of people I have never met is hard. So many words to say I love you. So many things were never said but too late now. He's in palliative care, doesn't remember me at all and I just want to scream and hide like a child.

Woken up today with my shoulder in agony where the possible Cancer may be. It's the 4th working day of waiting for results and I feel like I'm going to lose my mind. Plus - my skin on said shoulder around the problematic mole is so itchy and I canna reach it!

Listening to Redwall narrated by the late wonderful Brian Jacques. I needed this comfort more than I could have known. It feels like I'm wrapped up with my Dad reading it to me. I loved Brian Jacques, he was always so happy to see my little self. One is gone, one is lost, and I miss them both.
