A little while away yet, but something old that's new again coming to Unbound Publishing...

Tidying up an old harddrive drive tonight, and I discovered a Con-style scenario wrote for this grand, old game. I had long thought the draft had been lost to the digital gods, and happy to rediscover it! A good candidate for a future issue of Unbound Magazine, maybe?

Undecided what to work on next, and happy to hear thoughts from the 'voices in the ether'... is it time to get back to a couple Esoterrorist scenario drafts or should I focus on my Call of Cthulhu Dark Ages adventures?

So I've just released Issue Zero of - unboundbook.org/unbound-maga... - Unbound Magazine. My attempt to publish some of the crazy roleplaying ideas that have plagued my hard drive for decades. Please share with anyone who might find weird RPGs interesting. So, more issues to come? ... er, maybe?

After 'butterfingering' my way to deleting the existing menu on unboundbook.org, I've spent the evening rebuilding it bigger and better than ever (bar one little .css issue that I'm just too tired to muck around with)... Love that Wordpress comes with some nice, free plugins...

A couple of things to report - I've signed an agreement with a publisher to produce material for one of their lines; excited to be working on this with a friend! Been tinkering over on www.unboundbook.org to better reflect the page structure and content (as well as to accommodate future plans).

On my current Planetary Romance/Science Fantasy kick, I rewatched 'John Carter' tonight. Still believe it is really under rated (even if it did have some story elements that seemed out of place)... okay so it ain't Princess of Mars, but it is a real good modern re-envisioning!

Goes to show how much unfinished writing I have floating around on my hard drives, as today I found a mostly completed text for an Edgar Rice Burroughs meets Jules Verne style RPG. That 10k plus words I had forgotten I've even written from back in 2007/8. Maybe I just finish up and and publish it?

After seeing an RPG supplement I wrote (long ago) appearing for $8 US on a website (its an official site, so all good, even though there is no reference to my name as author), I realized that this... Groo: The Card Game... is all the 'profit' I've ever made for my efforts on the game line...

This makes me sad, in more ways than one - lestersmith.com/2025/04/dc-i.... Not sure who has purchased the Dark Conspiracy licence, but given its recent history (the massive failed Crowdfunding) I can help but think of the IP as a bit of a poisoned chalice.

While I'm not the biggest fan of its layout and graphic design, the Casting the Runes RPG is another favourite of mine. Combining the works of M R James and GUMSHOE, you get this really nice, low pressure RPG that focuses on investigation, interaction and quaint horror... a winner in my books!

As I sit here tinkering with a sci-fi scenario, I keep getting hit with waves of self-doubt - is this something people will like, this doesn't makes sense so its a waste, and who would ever want to play/read this... I'm sure that this is something all creatives face, but how to silence it?

Been reading #AshenStars from #PelgranePress today, and I have to say there's plenty of good, chewy content for any spacefaring setting between its covers. Honestly, it's one of those books that offers new, wonderful ideas each and every time I open it! Hmm... a Community Content scenario anyone?

Just completed probably the best Computer RPG I've played in a long time - Citizen Sleeper (jumpovertheage.com). Lots of depth, lovely, heartwarming stories and some fantastic worldbuilding - it should be the basis for a Tabletop RPG! Now on to the recently released sequel!

I think the formalisation of roleplaying will do more damage than benefit, however I'm also a believer in 'each to their own', so I encourage everyone to play their own way!

I have long desired to pen another Coriolis: The Third Horizon scenario but have long been held back by the effort involved. Today, however, I think I struck on a way forward... by focusing on adventure seeds (that I'm calling Lost Voyage Tales) and hence chunked through a fair bit of this...

I love tinkering with layout and design (even though I'm never going to be a Graphic Designer). As a break from editing my Esoterrorists scenario, I did some fixes on an old Conspiracy X adventure I penned almost a decade ago - Blue on Blue. Oddly, I still vividly recall the car trip in which I thought up the story's plot, but little of the writing itself - unboundbook.org/conspiracy-x...
