One of many optimistic things I saw at the atmosphere conference was how much potential the social aspect of @npmx.dev has to introduce developers to the protocol (that for whatever reason aren’t as likely to give bluesky a chance).

The design panel with @darrin.bsky.team was a highlight of #atmosphereconf Big ups to designers @brookie.blog, @montoulieu.dev, and @dame.is, who are all making things that are fresh, distinctly them, and FUN!

Side project update: the Darkroom Toolkit chemistry section is complete. Lots of data entry left to do. It’s essentially a cookbook in the app. This and film processing will really be the core.

There is some fantastic learning within these threads for everyone. Firstly just the openness in the approach to learning and sharing experience and reasoning around problems. But also the technical aspects of it. Speaking from personal experience, profiling React Native apps in Android is hard.

Set aside a couple hours to upgrade, enable the new architecture and troubleshoot issues, but it took no time at all. Couldn’t be happier.

As someone working on an Expo / React Native side project, this app being open source is an incredible resource. Learned a ton looking at how the @bsky.app team have handled things like the splash animation, modals, and bottom sheets.
