We should be going forwards and not so backwards. If we do go backwards its to revive what made us happy not dwell on chronic grudges. I am friends with many on both sides and I wish nothing but peace and civil relations. But let go of the hate. It will only destroy you.

Because myself and my colleagues will not see what we rebuilt with our own hands torn down again because some people have unresolved grudges for the past. That's not fair to us and what we built for ourselves. I know I sound off in this post, but seeing this discourse back is stressful and annoying>

It feels like a sped up repeat of the late 2010s to the same script and this time I'm not putting up with it. I understand times are emotionally tight and really tough with so much bad, but this is a good time to try a different plan and stop repeating the same behavior on social media >>>

So to see these grudges still linger, to see people snap because a show on a popular cable channel cameo'd someone yall should've let go of a long time ago and continue to manifest this pitiful war for online territorial criticism is not only sad but insulting to me and my community >>>

And it also inspired others to join me and participate in basically bringing the community back from the dead this time learning from the mistakes of the past to build a better community. Even having those of the old guard on both sides give us their blessings to continue their legacy >>>

By 2023 on my shows 10th anniversary, despite the pandemic and delays and difficulties in producing my biggest scale of work, I put out my most expensive and ambitious piece and even got people I was inspired by to cameo, making it more cannon to the genres lore. Something I am so proud of >>>

So I kept doing the genre I enjoy and became what one once labeled me as "The New Nostalgia Critic" it was mockery but I spun it into a compliment because I didn't care. I liked making it and so did my audience. I made something that people latched onto and have continued it to this day >>>

And side note, it made me really hate the Video Essay genre as a dull dragged out boring replacement. While I respect and do enjoy it for its informative research and educational merits, it wasn't as entertaining as the old guard and I think a lot of people got board of it fast >>>

I persevered even in the face of the last ten years of political discourses and a pandemic taking a lot of what we once had. I kept going even when some closest to me said "It's over. Move on. Maybe try that Video Essay format everyone is doing. No one wants to do the Angry Reviewer anymore." >>>

I wasn't gonna let a controversy that was based on a cesspool of emotional political backings, entitlements and unprofessional disgruntled equivalent of a bad band breakup ruin my chance to make my mark. I kept the damn genre on life support and so did many others I consider friends/colleagues >>>

I bring this up because I had spent the same amount of time for almost a decade feeling like the keeper of the flame of a genre and community I really wanted to be a part of and as soon as I put my turn in, the entire thing almost collapsed based on poor management of one of these communities >>>

The concerning revival of old grudges from almost a decade ago based on video essays talking about certain content creators "redemption" or remembering the glory days of the internet before it became depressing has been annoying to me. Let it go, take it to court or grow up >>>
