Mark Dreizehn assembled. Similar to Moderoid Mark Nicht I built a few years ago, it manages to perfectly capture the quirkiness of Fafner designs, while also being a much more solid figure overall. It also comes with a huge sheet of optional waterslide decals for markings to add even more detail.

Marco Polo no Bouken #10 Marco gets abducted by a cult of assassins and has to escape before they turn him into one of them. One of two episodes directed by Moribi Murano, deserving of praise for bold use of contrasting colors and silhouettes, as well as very good framing & control of space.

PLAMAX Dragonar completed! Super fun to build (maybe barring applying huge ass decals on the shield) and solid kit. He is also an absolute joy to pose and despite his size and weight can easily hold any pose, thanks to ratchet joints and included base, reinforced by screws.

Ep8 of Nadja was entrusted to the legendary Shigeyasu Yamauchi. Yeah, this is maybe one of the coolest things I've seen in awhile. I haven't had the pleasure of seeing a lot of his work. He strikes me as a man who loves to try new ideas and use the strengths of animation to its fullest.

Also, a few weeks ago I've finally assembled Bang Dragon and combined it with Bravern. I love everything about this set. All the parts fit together so perfectly you wouldn't guess it's made up of two separate kits. I love how huge and chonky Burn Bravern is. He has incredible presence on the shelf

I got permanently suspended on Twitter for preferring Oldtweetdeck over Mr.X's shitty alternative. Lol. The good news is I can now fully focus my attention here.

While browsing through some old otaku magazines I've bought during my trip to Japan, I came upon this cute short comic about Lupin and his gang helping Clarisse pick up berries and search for her lost shoes. Source is OUT, January 1982 issue.

Just came back from ChaO screening. Super cute movie, enjoyed it a lot! I especially love how it uses tiny things in its visual storytelling to set up some fun twists and developments in the second half. Tons of gorgeous backgrounds and amusingly cute character designs too!

Srungle performing a flashy kanada kick, not even to hit the enemy directly but to blast it with a thruster on the back of its leg, is such an insanely cool power move. Bonus points for awesome and eyecatching effects shapes

Just saw the SRW Y DLC announcement and I'm so happy to see Big O and Braiger back, and Da Garn making his SRW debut. All the Kamen Riders are also a nice surprise. I just really wish they were a part of the main cast instead...

Marco Polo no Bouken #08 Toshio Hirata brings some of his magic to the show - an incredibly oneiric and fairytale-like episode, in a lot of ways very reminiscent of Hirata's Kin no Tori, though much more somber than whimsical in overall tone.

(Late)Birthday party loot I love the SaGa Glimmer Lightbulb stick! I always wanted to have one since I saw people waving them around during SaGa events! I also got a badge with Isami (perfect for Bravern!) and an acrylic stand with Atsuko Ishida's art. And RG 1/144 Banshee Norn

I've finally assembled and painted my Gunleon so here are a few quick pics with guest appearance from Lio Convoy. Still need to paint a few details on his giant wrench and weapons in general, but I'm glad to finally own a figure of one of my favorite SRW Originals.

Moderoid Bravern assembled. My biggest complaint is the sheer amount of stickers the kit comes with (quite unusual compared to other Moderoids I've built). I've quickly decided it's better to paint the kit than to deal with them. But other than that he is mighty cool!

MAKENAAAAAIZE MAKENAAAAAIZE MAKENAAAAAAAAIZE! I wasn't planning to buy anything on a con, but that Gunleon was too tempting. I need to buy a new brush to touch up some details on his wrench.

Mecha Smile Impact announcements I'm the most excited about. I yelled upon seeing Bismarck and MGII! Dai Apollon was also an unexpected surprise and I wonder how they will handle Dairugger XV. It will be a challenge to make a good figure consisting of 15 combinable components

Birthday Bravern! I wish I could start assembling him right away, but currently I'm too busy finishing up my panels for an upcoming convention. Also I love how there is "Ao Isami not included" disclaimer on the box lol.

I appreciate how skillfully Kawajiri utilizes feverish colors, limited animation, sound and lighting to highlight how horrific the fight with Qara'unas is for young Marco. Everything happens so fast that the scared boy can only hear the sounds of swinging and colliding blades.

In Ambassador Magma #03, evil aliens pursuing the protagonists gradually infiltrate the city and replace its inhabitants. Praiseworthy is how the entire episode cleverly utilizes framing to reinforce the eerie feeling of being constantly watched by some unknown entities.

Went through some early events in SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered and while I appreciate all the new content and QoL updates, the AI upscaled backgrounds look absolutely horrid... The backgrounds in the original were so pretty and now they look so smudgy and messy...

Using a broken sword to stun lock the enemy machine and cause it to expose itself to a raging thunder is such a cool move. I really appreciate how the fights in God Sigma are getting more intense and creative despite some small animation errors.

Srungle #16 is another episode supervised by Dokite Tsukasa (Urusei Yatsura AD, Dirty Pair charadesigns etc) so you can expect polished & clean drawings and very expressive character animation. The opening disco scene already showcases how good it is Warning: rapid flashing

The three mechas combining into God Sigma were initially created as repair and construction machines, and I really appreciate how writers try to create opportunities for them to use their weaponry and equipment for their original purposes. Even during fights.

God Sigma #24 features my favorite mecha fight in the show so far. Not only is it exciting and fun to watch, but the choreography features some really cool bits like God Sigma cutting his opponent's lance in half and using it as a second weapon. Most likely work of Toshio Takagi

God Sigma has been constantly flip-flopping between a goofy super robot show and a shockingly brutal war drama, but ep 23 really excels in that dichotomy. It opens with Eldans once again destroying the Sigma base food supplies, forcing them to survive on emergency ration pills...

I've watched Srungle #15 today and was impressed by a quite long and ambitious continous cut of background animation Not sure who did this, but looking at the staff list for this episode it could be either Shimoda Masami or Nishimura Motohide? Unless it is uncredited
