I have been doing this for two and a half hours now! It's close(ish) to done! I have to inventory the last few werewolf tapestries and then figure out what prints aren't up yet (Hare Hearted WILL be going up, that much I know for sure)!!!

Honestly, the best way to make an artist’s day is by being very specific about what you like about a piece. Geek out a lil. Gush over how they use line, color, texture. Every mark is layed down by the artist, so if you can connect with those little moments, it helps the artist feel seen.

tonight’s wip, a piece I’m tentatively calling “cloudburst” (very original, I know). tbqh I mainly started this one because I wanted to play with painting some big ploofy clouds - i’ve gotten a decent way there, but there are some areas I’m going to rework tomorrow for sure

for fun, here's the final palette paper & the initial wash for this guy! he was a mix of various acryla gouache colors, namely navy blue, viridian, opera pink, primary white, lilac, magenta, and jaune brilliant. all holbein 🐲 the initial wash was a mix of navy/indigo, with opera/magenta blocking.

I picked up some actual formulated wet palette paper at the art supply today and I’m both impressed and also annoyed at how good it is compared to my DIY “paper towel and parchment paper” setup lmao. the consistency of my paint stays so NICE.

time to once again rotate the $300 fancy lamp in my head. i do not need and very likely will not buy the fancy lamp. but i can and will rotate it on a turntable inside my brain

I am back to my janky clip-on lighting situation for working on trad projects because I think the lamp I got is a fire hazard 🙂 nothing melted or actually caught fire, but after a couple minutes on it started flickering like mad and when I unplugged it the plastic smelled Not Good and was Very Hot
