Maynard has his eye surgeries on Tuesday, the left eye had to be removed and he had surgery to laser the offending hairs on his eyelid that were damaging the remaining eye. He was doing good but when I went downstairs earlier he was bleeding pretty bad from the good eye. We’re up at UC Davis now to-

They’ve got these silly little fidget toy blind boxes called Clickeez that you can take apart and use on your actual keyboard so now I have some ridiculously adorable cat keys.

The more I read about my upcoming surgery the more terrified I am and it’s hard to hold it together when Chris is out of town and I’m trying to also keep everything else from falling apart. It’s hard to keep up with the cat chores when I can barely lift five pounds and bending makes my neck burn.

Rory has been having some stomach issues and we’ve been trying to get them figured out, it’s probably some sort of IBD type thing, but he just went to the litter box and started passing gas so loudly it was like there was a small man loudly farting in my office.

Does a hunt that has no violence feed anyone?

Finally had my neurosurgeon consult and it sounds like I’m getting surgery to fuse three neck vertebrae in less than a month. The artificial discs are not an option with the hEDS. Super anxious. It might not fix the current issues with my hands, either, but is necessary to not… end up paralyzed. 🤷

At this point 90% of my shirts come from various types of artist based conventions (cat con, furry cons, horror cons, designer toy cons) because I can at least know there’s no AI art on them when I buy from artists, most of which I follow somewhere online and have for years.

Stopped by our veterinarian’s office to pay the last 10k of the 25k donated, we had to do it in chunks because of the spending limit on the card but we got it officially paid before the end of the year!! This helps us and them so much. Thank you so much for making this possible.

We got a christmas Cat Tree so that we could have a tree that makes everyone in the house happy! Ann loves to sit on every part. Goomba even went in the bottom part! Also, a picture of Frodo being adorable on it.

It’s really cool that people can order stuff on Etsy without actually reading the description then complain and leave one star reviews when it isn’t the item they made up in their minds when they ordered it. The Etsy shop is our main source of funding for the rescue, it really hurts when it happens.

It has been two years since my cat first started having bad health problems. This is a revamp of an older illustration I made as a fundraiser to get him treatment, which everyone very generously supported. Two years on we know he has IBD for sure, it is hard, but he is still going strong!

For example: If you're an artist, maybe you can design merch. If you're a web designer, you could redo an org's clunky website. If you are good at writing, someone might want you to do web content or social media. There are a MILLION ways to volunteer - please consider it! 🥰

If anyone's open to a New Year's resolution suggestion, please try volunteering for a non-profit! It doesn't necessarily mean showing up in person to do physical labor. Just think about a cause that is important to you and consider what skills you have. 🧵

I still really need to find local help that can reliably come by regularly to scoop litter boxes, vacuum, and sweep. I got my MRI results back on my neck and it’s… not good. Best case scenario, it’s going to be a long time before I’m in any shape to resume the level of physical activity necessary.

After like two years of eagerly taking his seizure medication twice a day in churu, Teddy suddenly realized I’d been hiding a pill in it all along and now every day is a battle. He won’t even eat churu anymore, the trust is gone. 😂
