We’re at the emergency vet in Pleasant Hill, running some blood work but the veterinarian here does think it’s likely a neurological issue and that he’s stable enough, so we’re likely going to be taking him to UC Davis on Monday unless he gets worse (then we go to the emergency dept at UC Davis).

Almost got turned away at our local emergency vet because they have a six to eight hour wait because of the fireworks already 🥲 They did agree to at least take him back and make sure it isn’t like a blockage or something but may need to find somewhere else to go.

I’ve been trying really hard to not place the burden of donating on our followers for a while now because everyone has been struggling, but something is wrong with Flibbit and he’s showing weird neurological signs so I’m taking him to the emergency vet. If you can help, now would be a good time.

Sue has arrived at Rocket Cat to get an echocardiogram and other testing done at UC Davis! He’s at our regular vet office today getting checked out for a skin issue, he’s FIV+ and has some other stuff going on but should be available for adoption in the near future. Last time I was down at Michele’s I saw this and she called it the rave cave and I haven’t stopped giggling about it since.

More than half a year post pill-in-the-churu discovery, Teddy still won’t eat a churu, but will allow me to walk up and tilt his head back and pop the pill in his mouth as long as I’m being honest and forthright about it. 🤷 Even lets me open his mouth to make sure he didn’t tongue it afterwards.

I ran into this lady with really cool tattoos at a dispensary and she got excited about my Gorehund shirt and was like “oh, that reminds me of this artist, DominoTwist, I met them at a convention” and I meant to ask if it was a tattoo convention or furry convention but instead I panicked and left.

I wasn’t kidding about the weird influx of male calicos around here. Not sure what it says about the current domestic cat population and/or local colony health, but it is really interesting. This guy makes six I’ve seen in three years here, plus one in Florida and one in North Carolina total eight.

We took the baby up to the local wildlife rehabilitation center yesterday morning, where they can learn to be a wild duck with other orphaned ducklings!
