I present to you: Good design, unintended consequences. The United app deletes your digital boarding pass after the flight takes off. That works really well unless the flight’s diverted to another airport for a bit. The gate agents had to print boarding passes to let folks back on the plane.

I’ve been on a diverted flight many times. I’ve never seen an airline more apologetic and accommodating than this one that was supposed to land in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Hmm. I wonder what the difference is. 🤔
