Cuomo was governor for 10 years. He came in with a lot of experience and amassed a lot of political power. West coast states were trying hard to increase urban housing supply; he did nothing. He hounded out the best NYC Transit head we’ve ever had. He failed over and over to deliver on policy.

To be clear, Donald is only pretending to have the power to kill congestion pricing. He cannot actually do so, as shown by the fact that NY is keeping the cameras on. The MTA has already filed a lawsuit against this action, and will win just as they've won every other congestion pricing lawsuit.

Congestion pricing is already delivering on its promise to reduce traffic, but to fully deliver its potential, the MTA must use the money raised efficiently - the MTA could build 10x as many miles of subway per dollar if they were to reform their construction practices using European best practices.

New Jersey charges the highest road tolls in the country at $5.77 per driven mile; way higher than NYC or NYC. By Josh's logic, NJ has been putting "all of us" in "harm's way" for decades....

The last time we waived onerous parking mandates, we added 36% more affordable housing. Given that most city residents don't have a car, removing this mandatory requirement is important to meet our affordability goals.

New York City built more housing in the 1920s than it has built in the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s COMBINED. Nobody alive knows what an actual urban housing boom looks like.
