there is also this thing that ppl do, esp nonblack ppl, where they see a Black woman (real AND fictional!) and go into this OTT “yaaaaas queen!” mode regardless of the context, bc they don’t know how to relate to or connect w one outside of this strange “oooh she’s so sassy, what’s diva!” stuff.

can I expand on this a little. I mean the “princess” associations of being carefree, doted on, protected etc are not afforded to us. even the Disney 1 we got is the only one w a fuckin job. “Queen” can be complimentary but it can also be fraught tbh, to constantly be put on a pedestal of strength.

we lost our way when disk space started allowing for fully-voiced game protagonists. the only things i want to hear out of my character's mouth is "uhmf" (jumping) or "oueurghh" (mauled by bear)

i do think its very fun that everyone in the msq (especially those in positions of power) thinks of the wol as their little hydrogen bomb that they can throw at ppl whenever they see fit and there is very little concern about the possibility of them getting injured. maybe the drk questline was right
