i think the way i found to emulate color pencils is an antithesis to how i usually work so i'm constantly fighting myself from doing my usual habits when it doesnt work with what i want to happen LMAO but it's a fun experiment i'd like to keep revisiting

i think something i wanna also try out is running a game with a co-GM, i think it's just fun to collaborate in general and i enjoy having someone to bounce ideas off of. i'd be less averse to homebrew settings if this is the case as well

i'm dming 3 games rn, one of which is a duet (gm+player) and the duet game can be a little awkward to start at first but the flow of it rolls so naturally when your player can really bounce off of you and it's loads of fun! super underrated way to play

i run premade campaigns so I don't get too overwhelmed with prep and improv but i end up improvising so much anyway. it's really funny, still a bit daunting but funny :) and fun :)

i also prefer events/conventions where there is a specific theme going on instead of being broad. "anime and games" for example is way too general. "original work/doujins" is more controlled and i'm more likely to actually meet people i want to meet

anyways, just musing... con season never really makes me feel any fomo because of how unappealing it all looks from afar, AX specifically seems to only get worse every year. what i do kinda feel bad about is me missing out on the past years when it still looked like fun (pre-covid)

i remember a few yrs ago i got invited by one of the AX organizers to booth because there was going to be a big persona event going on for that year (though such is the case every year) and i was so confused since i wasn't from america but i was yet to realize people specifically fly over to attend

every time i see vids and pics of AX i just cannot imagine having fun over there, it's way too much
