I watch so few movies these days (attention span and gaming problems, mostly), so this year I decided I want to try to watch 50 I've never seen before. Less than one a week seemed doable. Late Feb, I've just finished number five. Hey, still better than any recent year!

For a little while there, I had it in me to do things like finish movies or watch entire episodes of TV shows in one go. Now I'm back to ten minutes tops and the sudden urge to do something else. *sigh*

Beast of Reincarnation will be a frustrating experience, calling it now. Because that looks cool, but I will miss 90% of those parries, so I won't look cool at all. (Still want to play it, though.)

State of Play continuing with stuff that is good, but less new. Respect for Sucker Punch for dropping free multiplayer dlcs for titles that are basically a whole new game, even if those are not for me. Still very curious about Pragmata. Still hyped about RE9.

Since I saw some talk on the subject again, let me just say that if my national team decided to boycott the World Cup in the US, I'd respect them for it. And I mean... the odds that I'll respect them based on their results if they do go is only about fifty-fifty.

This is one my fave things that Marvel has done in a while—a showcase hyping up star artists includes this spread of their earliest works. Marvel once had a real clubhouse feel, inviting everyone in to take part, and this feels like a callback to that. Just practice and you can get there too.

It's a wild time for #comics on Kickstarter. Since the start of the year, a comic originally planned for 2022 has actually been delivered, one planned for 2020 is updating with new promises, and a new campaign is launching for the last book in a trilogy last seen in 2020!

3rd game of the year was Final Fantasy 1. Wanted to experience the original, and with quality of life improvements of the remaster, I actually enjoyed the gameplay more than I expected (did look up where I had to go a few times), although the story was even lighter than I expected.

Game #2 of the year was Epic Mickey Rebrushed on PS Plus. The paintbrush is a fun mechanic cleverly implemented. All-around very solid game... but I got a bit bored with it pretty quick, could it be that I'm... *shudder* ...too old for this one?

My first book of 2026 was Born a Crime by Trevor Noah. A fascinating insight in life under Apartheid--you know of it, you know it was horrible, but something like that can stay very abstract without a first-hand account. Told with humor and honesty.

My first game of 2026 was Final Fantasy XVI! I think I agree with the opinion that it's a great game (I had tons of fun) but maybe not a great Final Fantasy game. Fantastic at being epic and setting things up, not always at paying them off.

Okay, so this weekend was not my fault. It's perfectly natural to not get all those things done on a Saturday, because you have a whole other day of weekend ahead of you. And then I lay awake unti lsomething like 4 am, and I feel like I cannot be blamed for not being functional today.
