Belated Trektober, Day 14 - Ghost Ship. I WAS thinking of doing an Empok Nor 'are you SURE we cleared out all the lizard serial killer drugs?' gag but that felt a tad dark, so YARRRRRRRRRRR have the dread ghost pirate Captain Tendi and her crew of ne'er-do-well deadsigns instead :)

Belated Trektober, Day 13: Single Episode Character. Sylvia from Catspaw is so delightfully weird, bringing big 'we have Elvira at home' energy to a show that absolutely did not require a sexy shapeshifting cat/clanger puppet. So here's to one of sci fi's weirder dommy mommies ❤️

Belated Trektober, Day 12: Synthehol. Guinan is handing it over just before calling you out on all the self sabotaging crap you've been pulling.

Belated Trektober, Day 11: Frenemies. Spock and Bones' relationship is the most adorable thing in Star Trek and I will never tire of it 🥰

Belated Trektober, Day 10 - Promenade. If we have to have established character spinoffs, my vote is for a Quark-led one about the Promenade Merchants' Association that is just petty wrangling about rents, rates and leases whilst galaxy-spanning crises occur constantly just offscreen.

Belated Trektober, Day 09 - Animals. To go with Yeoman Rand, we have Yeoman Lawton, who was turned into an iguana in one of the very first episodes of TOS and I was heartbroken when they said everything got turned back to normal in the end because IGUANA IN STARFLEET.

Trektober, Day 8 - Underrated Character. Rand isn't some damsel, she's the PA for one of the most dangerous men in the quadrant. She has to ask the captain to intervene in conflicts because of how bad she might hurt THEM. She paints, she does botany, Rand is awesome, no arguments taken.

Belated Trektober 2025, Day 7: Fanfic AU. Spock, Kirk and McCoy are Kpop Demon Hunters and I can't bring myself to be sorry.

Belated Trektober 2025, Day 6: Holodeck Costume. I am a little sad that we never got the scenes of Jadzia or Julian ordering the stupidest last-minute costumes from Garak and then showing him screenshots from 400 year old movies or scans of medieval tapestries or whatever for reference.

Belated Trektober 2025, Day 5 - Worlds Collide. I imagine most recruits like Nog join starfleet for the glitz and glamour of being a space hero and then have to face the reality that you might just get your leg blown off by stormtrooper dinosaurs in a dirty cave in the middle of nowhere instead.

Trektober 2025, Day 15 - Era Swap. Dr T'Ana may like getting her paws out in the holodeck but given that she seems to have trouble fully retracting her claws the ship floors would probably feel pretty vile.

Been pretty sick of late so been quietly catching up on trektober - expect a flood of posts 😅

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

Trektober 2025, Day 4: Caves. I felt in season 7 that Kira and Garak were being WAY less prickly than usual when working with the liberation front and I suspect it's because the way Cardassians flirt would make everything they said sound like the beginning of a porno if they just talked normally.

Trektober 2025, Day 3: Orb Encounter. I think it's interesting that the only romantic relationship Kira had with even the remotest amount of chemistry was the one with a being that only identified as male as a matter of convenience. Just throwing that out there.

Trektober 2025, Day 2: Uniform. I always thought the insistence on a member of a historically oppressed people having to remove symbols of their culture to be kind of gross and BS to be honest. Rare Riker L.

Trektober 2025, Day 1: Final Frontier. I bet baby Mariner was the BIGGEST TOS nerd and learned the Final Frontier speech before she could walk properly.

Re: the hints about Star Trek: Archer, do I want West Wing in Space? Yes. Do I trust current Paramount to deliver on that in a way that won’t disappoint? No. Besides, if we get West Wing in Space I want it in the Romulan senate. Not everything needs to be about the Federation!

Today I woke up to the understanding that there is a new War of the Worlds movie and it is incredibly bad, and my love of bad movies is now at war with my love for the source material and musical adaptation 😅 Do I risk it?
