Been soul searching after the Orange Turd distracts from his localised killing jars, planetary destruction and rockspider shit What's kept me in the psychedelic science field for almost 30 years? I've been mourning so much of the bastardisation and commercial oversell lately.

8/ None of this means giving up. It means being honest with our selves and facing reality. Fossil fuel burning must fall hard and fast. And we must protect and restore ecosystems. The sink matters as much as the smokestack. The atmosphere measures what we do, not what we promise.

Read 3 separate articles about psychedelic medicine over the last seven days in MAJOR publications, both Australian and international. All used a first person case study about how someone's life was transformed. All incorporated "expert" interviews with ppl commercially connected to these things.

Ack! Tom Lehrer diedš Some of my earliest memories are mum playing his songs on 33rpm. And there was the fabulous friend's wedding where the first waltz was the Vatican Rag

When another scientist gives you a tour of their lab they're always like "here's the regular equipment I know you've seen it a million times so boring" but I genuinely love land snorkeling through other people's labs and noticing tiny details about how they organize things

Cute moment yesterday: asocial me walks into the pub for a feed with a mate and this young bloke tall and akimbo like a scarecrow yells "Are you the mushroom lady?" and I say "I'm a mushroom lady and that lady over there is a mushroom lady too. Would you like to join us to talk about mushrooms?"

Everyone wants there to be a grand scheme behind all of this but the terrible truth is that extremely stupid people are in charge and they have a fanatical devotion to wrong, childlike concepts of society and economics cooked up by right wing radio hosts in order to sell tainted dietary supplements
