I'm a pretentious contrarian, so this isn't easy for me to say... One Battle After Another is by far the best movie of 2025.

This is wild to me. Maybe I'm getting old and I've just seen the loop a few times now or maybe this is a real weird moment. Hipster millennial trends were, at the time, a nostalgic redux of mid to late 20th century trends. So idolising that scene is real photocopy of a photocopy stuff.

This final season of Stranger Things cost nearly $500 million dollars to make. Think about that for a moment. Almost half a billion dollars for 9 episodes of TV. And it doesn't even look good.

If we accept the first two-thirds of this statement to be true (which is far from certain, and a conversation for another time) then the nature of the psychotherapy applied seems the most crucial ethical question to grapple with in psychedelic medicine.
