We're both very sad to hear of the passing of Michael Keating. Blake's 7 wouldn't have been what it was without him. Some of the most memorable moments were all down to him, and by all accounts he was a wonderful chap. He'll be missed.

Absolutely agree with you. This was an amazing episode. It did that wonderful thing of giving us an 'upstairs/downstairs' style view of the Federation.

A great listen! My favourite Blake’s 7 of all since I first saw it – despite being only 8 at the time* You bring out a lot of Boucher’s brilliant lines, but as you also enjoy “I’m tired, and I hurt” and “Some days are better than others,” those are the two B7 lines I use most often in everyday life.

I used to question the stupidity of villains, particularly the autocratic or fascistic ones, in classic Who. The past decade has changed my mind on this and I now think that when they are written as stupid it is merely a more accurate portrayal. And Servalan is A+ both wicked and dumb here.

I started my first watch through of Blakes 7 on Dec. 31 with one episode each day (and catching up with the corresponding Spacefall podcast eps). This story I found quite dire and I fully appreciated the effort you two put in to finding some nicer things to say about it!
