I have been thinking about the Socratic method and how quickly it's disregarded. While being asked probing questions, you examine your own convictions and beliefs, and come to your own independent conclusions. Self-discovery. No one is directly telling you what to think.

The didactic method, on the other hand, does exactly this. You are in an echo chamber. You are not thinking outside the box. You are inside of one.

Never forget: Pride, as Aristotle puts it, is a greatness of soul. Hubris is the opposite... a vice used to shame others merely for the self-gratification and pleasure of superiority.

Today we celebrate Juneteenth. Mr. President, isn’t this the essence of America? The fight for freedom against tyranny? Is it "woke" to know history? If so, then I'm fully awake and I like it.
