Update on the squirrels…trapped three in the attic and successfully removed them. Hopeful that the entry routes have been blocked now.

It is quite cold here today and the snow/sleet is frozen solid. I was able to get to the post office yesterday but UPS is not running here yet and the UPS Store was closed. I’ll get those packages out as soon as I can. Thanks for your patience. 🧶🧶🧶🥶🥶🥶

The weather this weekend was the perfect time to try out My Jose Hood! I am happy to report that it kept me toasty warm as I shoveled the drive and sidewalk yesterday. With the cold temps this week, it will get lots of wear. Yarn and pattern in comments. ICE is unsafe, friends. Be vigilant. XO Kim

I was adopted from Korea as a small child. The recent actions in Minneapolis and other locations by this government are extremely distressing. On top of that, my adoptive parents voted for that man. The feelings of betrayal are immense. Every time I hop on social media, it’s in my face. 1/2

Condé Nast forgot to renew the trademark for Gourmet and so a group of journalists grabbed it and are relaunching the food magazine as a worker-owned co-op. Love it.

Knitting on the Winter Stardew sock on this rainy Saturday. Listening to Cocteau Twins Heaven or Las Vegas and finding out from my son that this album is having a resurgence among the younger generations. Jeff Buckley as well. It made me really happy to hear that.

There were extremely disconcerting sounds coming from inside my walls yesterday. When my husband came home from work, we cut a hole in the other side of the wall in the garage and freed a good sized squirrel. Sigh. We know how they got in, so that will be fixed soon.

Small Business Friends--Check and see if Amazon has slurped listings from your site and posted them on their site. They did it to me and I had no idea--a friend emailed me about it. They have listings from my site that are old, inaccurate and I NEVER GAVE THEM PERMISSION to post them there. 1/2

This dog talked me into taking him to his favorite field this morning. Hot on the scent of something good, he ran into a thicket of trees and shrubs in the middle of it and then started howling. I had to rescue him and he won’t forget the indignity anytime soon.

How's the holiday baking going for you? I had leftover pistachios from making biscotti and a jar of marschino cherries in the pantry, so tried this recipe last night. They turned out great and received rave reviews!

Hi! So, I’ve been working on the final wholesale order of the year. It’s for a new LYS! More details to come on that. I have also gone through the Clearance section of the site and cleaned it up so that it’s easier to see what is left there. And, I’d like to remind you of gift cards! Links below. 🧶🧶

Gift knitting is done and I’m working on a project for myself. Hats tend to look terrible on me, so I’m giving a good a try. This is the My Jose Hood pattern in my Mochi DK—Periwinkle colorway. I think it’s going to be so nice and warm with the scarf tied around the neck. 🧶🧶🧶 Links in comments.

Are you all ready for this? I finished the Lucky Dog Sweater (Pattern by Sole Salvo for Purl Soho) and the way it fits Duncan is incredible. He looks like a sleek model of a dog walking around the neighborhood. The fabric is warm enough to keep him nice and cozy. Highly recommend this pattern. 🧶🧶🧶

Consumed two emotionally devastating works recently. Hamnet (book) was excellent. I saw a lot of criticism online that it was boring but I am a big fan of a novel that doesn’t rely on a galloping plotline if the writing can stand up to it. Gorgeous writing, words so carefully selected. Loved it.

Since I’ve been on a gift making streak, I decided Duncan (my sweet pup) needs a new sweater. He has hair rather than fur and is prone to matting/felting if he wears a dog sweater too long. I’m using a mostly silk yarn held with a merino strand for this. Hope it helps in that aspect. 🧶🧶🧶
