In 7th grade, I broke my jaw in a boating accident. My mouth was wired shut for a month, and I had to drink my meals through a straw. I was too embarrassed to eat in the cafeteria at school, so my friends and I ate lunch in the science classroom. We’d hole punch pennies and laugh a lot. 🥲
