Today's snowfall reminded me of this remarkable video of the surface of Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko, seen by the Rosetta spacecraft's OSIRIS camera in 2016 and processed by @landru79.bsky.social. Except the "snow" here is actually dust particles... in front of a moving ocean of stars.

Finished reading Starter Villain by @scalzi.com and what a fun read. I love how he plays with tropes. It’s silly and entertaining, I was smiling all the way through. Also, I really want an Eames chair now! Had to search what they looked like and daaamn that looks comfortable as heck.

A team can get really paralyzed waiting for things to be Decided™ One of the most valuable things a senior can do on a team during production is make quick decisions to "put stakes in the ground" even on topics that are not yet 100% confirmed or aligned, and then document/broadcast those decisions.

We had to say good-bye to Rita today 😥 We are glad she got more time after her surgery in December, but her health started deteriorating rapidly again in April. We gave her the best quality of life for as long as we could. Rita is no longer in pain. Give a hug your furry friends from me today 🙏

This is a great video! The concepts apply to any engine, not only Unity. When we do a tutorial we often just: do a tutorial. We don't learn much, and we don't know how to take whatever we learnt to our own #gamedev projects. This is why. Learn very foundational concepts and build from there :)

COE33 is a great game and we should all be able to celebrate that without financial forensics. The issue is the stories that keep being pushed about “small” and “self funded” teams, THAT is the problem. It sets wrong expectations based on made up and ultimately hurtful narratives about gamedev.

Oh wow I had not seen the news about the ruling on the Epic vs Apple case. This is a big deal. This could really open LOTS of doors for better income for developers. You can release “demo version” for free, and prompt people to unlock full elsewhere, etc. Same with subs or f2p mechanics.
