I do sometimes actually finish projects. My Dark Academia, which I finished in early 2025, but didn't get to wear until this year. My first seriously large color work project, which is now baggy on me due to weight loss during my cancer treatment last year.

Felt the need to take a break from color work, so gave in to the temptation to cast on a Three Season Pullover from @woolandpine.bsky.social The yarn is Malabrigo Rios in Glitter. The suggestion is for a cotton/linen worsted, but when I saw the Rios, my mind immediately went "That." #knitting

What type of Monday is it? I'm trying to find a Regency equivalent for the phrase, "Who pissed in his Cheerios?" (Ah, revisions.)

The bushes around the house are blooming beautifully this year, complete with new growth where there had previously been bare wood. This is due to the new gardener, who has a delicate touch with his tools. I've watch him shave just the barest sliver off, shaping them and encouraging new growth.

The yarn that was tempting me? Saw a few reviews which were less than positive. One said it was so scratchy it was "like wearing steel wool." Makes me glad I resisted.

The Pantages Theatre in Hollywood is a great place for small details. The lobby and house are filled with amazing Art Deco style, which was lovingly restored in 2000, including these tiles from one of the Ladies' Rooms, carrying through the striking theme of the building.

My dad, who began programming when things were on punch cards and tape reels, had a saying: "Computers are just dumb animals. They only do what you tell them to. Until the moment they piddle on the carpet." I've got a goddamn flood today. :: sigh ::

Finished our last trip to Disneyland until September (passes blocked for the summer) and, as is our habit, finished the day at the Grand Californian's Hearthstone Lounge. Which gave me a chance to appreciate the beautiful stained glass in the doors of their front entrance, one of my favorite sights.

Up next, not that I haven't read THE BIG SLEEP before. I was first introduced to Raymond Chandler at the Scene of the Crime bookstore back in the 80s. But I was waxing lyrical about his descriptions the other day, and decided it was time to revisit his work.

Imperial Coroner was the show that cemented my love of CDramas. It's on YouTube for any who are interested, a smart, funny, well put together mystery. So when I saw DVDs for both series on eBay, I grabbed them. One question: are discs like this usually burned, not manufactured?

I scribble ideas constantly, often filling pages in my journals. Then I try to pull my attention away and back to the project at hand. But I do go back and look at those notes, and sometimes they start to catch fire again. This story keeps calling, even if I haven't figured out all the pieces.
