I thought "hoarding" was the lesson we were supposed to learn from the Ant and the Grasshopper story. The grasshopper died because he partied all summer, while the practical ant worked at collecting and storing his food. A lot of people suck, if they are criticizing folks for stocking up.

I maintain "minimalist lifestyle" is just soft facism aesthetics and no one can convince me otherwise.

Well, they shame underprivileged people, in general, especially those on social safety nets. And "hoarding" shouldn't be shamed because, among that economic group, it's done out of necessity. It was especially prevalent in family members who lived through the Great Depression, for good reason.

I sometimes feel like people shame poor people for “hoarding” because they want them to be even less prepared for hardships.

I hope the people younger than me have a long memory.
