The University of Dundee has announced it will defer the 1.4% national pay rise for staff in higher education. With inflation above 3% this means hard working staff at the University will be getting at least a 3% real terms pay cut this year.

Funny how many managers 'have no choice but' to cut staff while simultaneously staring multi-million building projects. Ours bought a plot of land that was worth £77 million 2016 and plans to build a *£750 million* life science project. This is why we need a governance review. #UKHE

I'm on leave at the moment (and also don't work on Fridays) so I won't be on strike tomorrow, but solidarity with my colleagues who are. Having had confirmation of my PhD award from Lincoln just today, I'd like to feel confident of being able to continue using it after September.
