I'm not usually a much of a protestor, but I will try to defend the University of Leicester, and my colleagues, from the bad decisions made by our management. The proposed cuts unneeded, unfair and backed by cherry picked metrics. I support the @leicesterucu.bsky.social strike action.

We're striking to stop budget cuts and mass redundancies and standing up for the future of our students' education. There is no deficit.

As the Great Nothing of job cuts and course closures rolls through Higher Education, the University of Leicester is looking to stop teaching 'woke' subjects like, er, Chemistry, Geology, Geography, Education and Modern Languages. Total madness. www.leicestermercury.co.uk/news/leicest...
