At 5 PM on Jun 3, 2026, almost 2,400 people rode past this daily counter on the 5 St SW cycle track in Calgary. Calgary is a bicycling city.

Happy Pride Month, Calgary. Pride began as a protest. It was a demand for equal rights, equal treatment, and equal dignity. Every gain was earned by people who refused to stay silent in the face of discrimination and hate.

Eid al-Adha Mubarak to Calgary’s Muslim community and all those celebrating. As families and friends gather in prayer, reflection, and generosity, I want to thank Muslim Calgarians for the many ways you strengthen our city through service, compassion, and community.

I’ve heard from Calgarians deeply concerned about the AISH and ADAP changes. For some, that means about $200 less each month for rent, groceries, or medication. Council has formally raised concerns with the province. Albertans with disabilities deserve stability, dignity, and opportunity.

Behind the scenes from our training for the Firefighter Stairclimb. Once a week, our team climbs the Bow Tower three times. That’s 171 floors total. A tough workout, and still only a small glimpse into the grit first responders bring. To donate:

Voting on whether to have a vote is a ridiculous lack of provincial leadership. Calgary is a globally connected city. Separation uncertainty is costing us jobs. We have real work to do: building homes, improving public safety, fixing infrastructure, growing our economy, and making life better.

As Calgary grows toward two million people, our success will depend on whether people see this as a city where they are welcomed, respected, and safe being themselves. That is the Calgary we should keep building. A confident city. A compassionate city. A city where everyone belongs.

I've heard from thousands of Calgarians. We need to keep the LRT free fare zone. People have made decisions around where to live, work, and do business based on it. It helps move people downtown, supports safety through busy platforms, keeps transit accessible, and is central to hosting major events

I've written to the Province calling for a stronger partnership to fully fund and integrate Calgary's Community Court into the justice system. This program is delivering real results, connecting vulnerable Calgarians to support, reducing repeat offences, and easing pressure on police and courts.

Today Council joined a coalition of municipalities calling on the Province to pause changes to disability supports. I was proud to sponsor this motion with Councillor Schmidt. We need real consultation, clear data, and a plan that protects people from deeper poverty without shifting costs to cities.
