Ended up only watching 1986 movies in January, been some real dross so far but my favourite discoveries include Something Wild, Hoosiers, Love Unto Waste and Thrashin'. Think I've got a good couple more months of watching before I have to start putting work in to find the movies.

With 2025 now in the books, it also marks the end of my 70s cinema project. I blew through my target of 70 new films, and ended up watching 176, plus 23 rewatches, and added 43 movies to my physical media collection.

For the next 4 days I am officially unemployed! Finished at my old place a week and half back, and used up some holiday to take me to end of year. Start my new job on Jan 5th 😀

This is a really good point that I had not run into before: these "creators" have no further insight into their alleged creation than the average audience member and that is why it cannot be called art (besides all the other obvious reasons).

Not had many better Christmas evenings than todays; watching Barry Lyndon for the first time with the wife and dog, and plentiful snacks and drinks. 5 stars all round.
