This confused me and still does, because there were cartoons like The Owl House on the air at the time, but at the same time it kinda figures.

So now we know that Nickelodeon Animation is apart of CBS Studios, while Nickelodeon Productions & Awesomeness (the live action department) was folded into Paramount Television.

The latter part is interesting because I did mention that Nick Jr seemed to be in a transitional phase with a lot of original content being a digital exclusive on Nick Jr’s YouTube channels.

Nickelodeon Animation Studios will become a label within CBS Studios ran by newly appointed President, Alec Botnik who will report to CBS’ George Cheeks. The studio is going to reinvent how they meet today’s kids & families. They plan to reach preschoolers first through cross platforms.

The new official president of Nickelodeon Animation Studios is Alec Botnick. Botnick previously served as executive vice president of comedy development and head of animation and alternative for CBS Studios. He’ll continue to hold that position while overseeing NickAnimation.

Ashley Kaplan will move to a consulting role (after 5 month co-running the animation studio) before leaving the company at the end of the year. Jules Borkent will continue to oversee the Kids & Family business and strategy.

i swear SpongeBob critics are making shit up to bash the new episodes. These are SEA gorillas in the thumbnail; based on the term sea monkeys. You can tell by the fins(?) on their head. Hell, even the man in the gorilla suit shows up in the same episode in the end, with it being a surreal ending!

I wonder how I would feel if I was a director working at Skydance Animation making a movie and Brad Bird gets the special treatment. Like, it looks better than most of Skydance's other films, but will it actually be better? I know it's Brad Bird, but even he can make a mistake.

I'd love to be excited for this, but knowing Brad Bird publicly defended John Lasseter and is still working with him despite his sexual misconduct allegations against him in 2018, I simply can't. It shouldn't be hard to cut off ties with bad people.

While there is the elephant in the room (Skydance), I must say, I dig the designs, especially the humans like Raymond Gunn. They look nothing like the humans from Bird’s Incredibles and Ratatouille, or Skydance’s previous projects. A 2D film would’ve been cool, but I like this.
