Minneapolis. Gen X mom to a preschooler. Government IT employee. She/her.
When looking for our EV, we had a strict length limit due to our off street parking situation. It really helped in narrowing down our choices because even in the EV market the cars are huge.

We have a pretty significant stucco issue that hopefully we can have repaired instead of redoing the whole house. Anyone have a recommendation for a stucco repair company in Minneapolis?

Four months for driving drunk and killing someone. Over twice the legal limit. Want to get away nearly punishment free for murder? Kill someone with your car.

DREAMING OF H-MART: A company linked to the popular Korean grocery just bought the former Cub Foods site at the Midway Marketplace on University Avenue -- as well as the former Walmart building. What does that mean? It means $16.5 million just changed hands.

St. Paul: Key sites in Midway Marketplace sold to New Jersey group
Once home to Cub Foods, a Walmart, an At Home Furniture store, a Herberger’s, smaller shops, the site on University Avenue has limped through the past few years of retail vacancies.

Vodka. I can drink it if it is completely masked by something like a Bloody Mary, but even then I much prefer tequila. Or lately, give me all the NA choices.

You know that feeling when you have a high fever and your skin gets super sensitive and any touch is uncomfortable? It’s called allodynia and I’ve had that over most of my body for the last three days as a side effect of a dosage increase of a drug I’ve been taking for three years. It really sucks.

On Wednesday, the shorts I bought online arrived in the Minneapolis Distribution Center. Today, it is leaving from Lexington KY. I really wanted to wear the shorts today. 😭 I would have just drove to Bloomington to buy the stupid shorts, but my coupon was online only.

At a coffee shop playing Tom’s Diner. Earlier we were at a skate park with kids wearing Nirvana, Misfits, and Green Day tees with baggie jeans. It’s weird that my teens/early 20s are cool.

Day three of vacation. Plan today was packing up campsite and more swimming. Which would have been wet and cold. Instead we are at one of the big suburban libraries which is warm, dry and fun.

Camping in the far Western suburbs. Only one other tent in our loop and they left for dinner. It would be wonderful if we weren’t 50 feet from a very busy county road with many semis. Hoping it quiets after rush hour.

Are you a Twin Cities area adult who doesn't know how to swim? This summer there are drop-in lessons for adults, on Fridays, 6-7 p.m. at the Highland Park Aquatic Center. $10/week, no registration required.

I’ve seen some people asking for confirmation, so: yes, the Minnesota Republicans’ state convention did indeed hold a moment of silence for convicted murdered Derek Chauvin (who is not dead) (unless he is; we could be in a Schrödinger's Murderer situation).

What a lovely day! We biked to a 5.5 year old birthday party at Lake Nokomis Playground. But, Minneapolis really needs to invest in cargo bike friendly bike racks next to every playground (and pool) across the city.

Before I post on Facebook, anyone here have a tween or teen looking to get some experience babysitting? I’m looking for someone to watch my 5yo from like 9:30-3:00 some Fridays this summer. I will be working from home the whole time, so enthusiasm is much more important than experience.
