Well, the housing crisis is expected to last another 15 yrs as things are, so even if it took 10 yrs it would be significant improvement wouldn’t it? And it would be an actual plan, a sustainable one, unlike the more of the same we’re getting from FFG.

Happy to be supporting Ruth Coppinger's Bill to ban fox hunting. The Dáil will vote on this on 17 December, the first time in history a ban has been proposed on it. This is not a "rural pursuit", it's animal cruelty pure and simple.

Having worked in both domestic violence and homeless services, this seems like pitting them against each other. Surely investing more in those services and opening more refuges is the answer, not partnering with Airbnb.

Mmmhmm, make about five of the same dinner on a Sunday. Use two to three during the week. Make five more next Sunday. In a month, you’ve several different kinds of dinner in the freezer, and no cooking at all if you’re having a shit or stressful week.

I love how we grownups forget ourselves when there's a baby nearby. In the GP waiting room, we're making all faces at a smiling baby. Even the GP receptionist has dropped her serious face to play peekaboo. We've all forgotten our misery to share a slice of this baby's happiness.

Until now, I’ve been in the ‘menopause is a natural process and I’ll see it through naturally’ camp (I never judged anyone’s else’s choices). Turns out though, giving up a coping mechanism you’ve had for more than 3 decades at the height of menopause can puncture one’s innocence very effectively.

I think there are real battles we need to “fight to win” But I also think the dominant culture is never going to get ahold of its destructiveness if we don’t learn to appreciate the importance of losing, releasing, mourning, of limitation.
