A Pilates class, a pretty tough one. Coffee, cheese scones, sewing project and a catch up with friends. Into Leam to pick up himself AKA The Happy Wanderer. Coffee, a browse in the bookshop while exercising self restraint due to size of TBR pile. A pretty good morning!

Baking today, lemon drizzle, chocolate fudge brownies, cheese scones made with sour dough discard. Some lemon drizzle for the sewing group ladies this evening. Hurrah.

On my cutting table today. Tamarack jacket pattern and this fabric. Cutting big wodges of fabric to quilt, using scrap cupboard leftovers for the backs. Just cutting to give the illusion of having started.

It's quilt washing day! This is a decent double bed sized quilt. Entirely hand pieced. The blocks were examples I used when I was teaching English Paper Piecing, pre covid. I made it up during the long days of lock down. It's machine quilted on a long arm machine. Not by me!

Version 2 of Block 5 of East Meets West BOM. This is hand pieced using English Paper Piecing. The fabric is some very inexpensive Chinese themed fabric. I'm having to be quite careful with the fabric as it's cut in strips, jelly roll style.

I made up these two cushions over the weekend. They are from a pre printed panel, designed to allow Free Motion Quilting practice. Too pretty to just put in a drawer so I made a couple of cushion covers. Borders and back panels were scrap fabrics. (I have too many cushions!) #quilting #sewing.

My knitted Nativity on display at a local Care Home. My MiL lived here, very happily, for many years. The background is not so pretty as it's all health and safety stuff! I made all of this apart from 2 of the camels.

“To quilt is to put your hand on tomorrow.” One of the greatest examples I have is a baby quilt made in 1842 for my husband’s gr-grandfather by the baby’s grandmother Verena Furler---who died 2 months before the baby was born. Verena was born in 1775 but her hand --- her stitches touch today.

Here's a quilt I made based on the the 2023 wonderfil BOM. I made the FPP flowers half size and turned them into hexies. The overall design is my own. I love to give my projects a twist and mix lots of techniques. #quilt #EPP #FPP #embroidery

Adding some of my past quilts hoping to find quilty friends: this was a cat quilt for my daughter. She helped pick out all of the fabrics. I quilted it on my domestic machine and I like how the simple crosshatch sort of echoes the checkerboard pattern from one of the fabrics. #quiltsky
