This was another sew along. This one was a mystery and I love the finished product. I love the sunset colors against the black background. I quilted it with grape colored thread and used the pantograph called Skedaddle from Sew Shabby Quilting.

I don’t know how I ended up on the mahjong side of the internet but I did. Being the game-lover that I am, I was intrigued. I watched a bunch of videos to teach myself and asked for a set for an early birthday present. I have loved playing with my fam and now I hope to find a group to play with.

I am way behind on sharing what I’ve been working on. This was a sew along with Karen Montgomery over the summer. I figured I’d get a jump-start on Halloween! I love the way it turned out. I decided to try a flange binding and I definitely need more practice!

This was the second of my brown bag mystery quilts this year. I love the classic look of the solids. I feel like the colors are perfect for my brother so I gifted it to him. I was definitely tempted to keep it though! #quiltsky

I recently finished this mystery quilt. This is my second year participating and I have so much fun watching the pattern unfold piece by piece. I actually did two this year and the second is all solids so it will be fun to see them next to each other when I finish. #quiltsky

I made this for my friend and neighbor. I love the rich colors with touches of gold. I feel like it suits her and I hope she loves it. I love being able to share my craft with people I care about. #quiltsky

I made this quilted tote bag for my nephew. He’s turning 6 so I thought the sharks would be kind of fun? I figured he could use this to carry his toys or Legos when he goes to hang out with his cousins. It was a nice quick make. #quiltsky

I made English muffins! I’ve been wanting to try these for awhile but I guess I thought they’d be more complicated than that were. I love how fluffy these are. I can’t wait to have one for breakfast tomorrow! #food

I really enjoyed making some jellyroll placemats so I decided to try a small rug. I made this purple rug to coordinate with the quilt I just made my daughter. #quiltsky

It still needs binding but I was too excited to share. This has been the most fun but also challenging quilt and I’m so glad I was able to complete it for my daughter. It’s Drip by Taralee Quiltery. #quiltsky

I tried my hand at making a jelly roll placemat. I watched some videos of someone making one online and felt like it was something I could do. I’m happy with the outcome and looking forward to making more and playing with color. #quiltsky

I finally got the binding on the table runner using Bahamian batiks. I opted to alternate strips of orange and blue and I really like the effect. #quiltsky

I finished the bag I was working on. It’s the XL tote from ByAnnie’s Two Big Totes (see cats for scale!). I’m really happy with how it turned out. I will use it to take all my stuff with me when I go to club day at my quilt shop. #quiltsky

I’m getting my pieces together to make myself a bag. I have my pieces quilted and cut and my strapping and zippers prepped. #quiltsky

I started another quilt today. I got the first round of blocks finished. This will be for my uncle who likes to fish. Quilting is my escape and these days I find myself wanting to do it as often as I can. #quiltsky

We grilled burgers the other night and I decided to make my own burger buns. I’ve really be trying to make most of the breads we use at home. These were out of 3 Doughs 60 Recipes by Lacey Osterman and they were very easy and turned out great. #food

After I finished the quilt, I couldn’t help but stitch up a couple more baby items. I was gifted personalized burp cloths when my first was born and I loved that I knew they wouldn’t get mixed up at daycare so I love to gift the same to new moms. #quiltsky

I got to work on quilting this project today. It’s supposed to have a jungle theme so I chose this fun pantograph from My Creative Stitches. Everything they do stitches so smoothly. #quiltsky

I recently purchased 3 Doughs 60 Recipes from Lacey Osterman (@_lacebakes_ on IG). I’ve been trying various focaccia recipes and want to give a sweet one a try. This is her hot chocolate version. It didn’t disappoint. Think chocolate croissant: it’s airy and sweet enough without being cloying. #food

We recently went on vacation and made a stop in Nassau. I decided I want to find some fabric to bring back to make a table runner as a reminder of our visit. I found these beautiful batiks and decided on this simple, modern pattern to highlight them. Can’t wait to get it quilted and bound! #quiltsky

This is the second batch of focaccia I made from lacebakes on IG. It turns out so squishy and delicious, I’m going to have to steadily try every variation. This one had mozzarella cheese and garlic folded in and then more mozzarella and garlic butter on top. So delicious! #food

I finally got pictures taken of my Knitted Star from Lo and Behold Stitchery. I quilted it with Snowflake Cascade from My Creative Stitches. I think I’m going to gift it to someone who sees more snow than I do here in Houston. #quiltsky

Chicken tikka masala, roasted cauliflower , and fresh garlic naan! I was surprised that both of my girls loved it. I never know what they might like but this was a winner. #food

I’ve begun piecing the blocks in my latest quilt. This is the first two. (They are long and skinny.) This is the Drip quilt from Taralee Quiltery and it will eventually be a bed-sized quilt for my daughter. #quiltsky

Snow day in Houston! This is the first time my girls have ever played in the snow. I’m thankful for a day that feels joyful and a little bit magical in such trying times.

I was torn between lazily digesting a nice dinner and finishing my table runner but the table runner won! It will be nice to have a pretty new table decoration for Valentine’s Day. #quiltsky #longarmquilter

My local quilt shop started a new block of the month today. These are my first blocks. I’m excited to see how this one turns out because I loved last year’s. They offered two colorways: day and night. This is the day choice. #quiltsky

I’m still working on getting each of my fabrics washed and ironed but I couldn’t resist starting to cut. This quilt has lots of pieces and I’m already really glad I bought the acrylic templates that go with it. #quiltsky

Starting my next quilt. This one was picked out for my daughter. Getting organized and labeled and beginning the process of pre-washing my fabrics. Hoping to document as I go. #quiltsky

I finished up my 2024 temperature quilt. The pattern is from Plains and Pine and the pantograph is Skadaddle from Sew Shabby Quilting. I am so proud of the finished product. I still plan to embroider a label for the back with a legend for the colors and their temperature ranges. #quiltsky

This was a kit I bought to make myself a Day of the Dead quilt. I love the way the shop mixed Alexander Henry patterns with Kaffe. #quiltsky

It’s quilted! I used Grape Soda from Sew Shabby Quilting. I need to scrounge through my stash and see if I have something for binding or if I need to buy some. The end is in sight! #quiltsky

I got my mistake corrected and got my quilt loaded. Hopefully tomorrow I can baste it down and start quilting!

I finished getting the top together and then realized one of the checkered borders is turned the wrong way so I need to do some ripping tomorrow. I do love the overall look. I have to decide what color I’m going to quilt it with. #quiltsky

I spent some time yesterday working on the finishing steps of my local quilt shop’s BOM. This is the longest I’ve ever worked on a quilt and I’m so ready to see the finished product. The border is going to be a rainbow checkerboard and I’m hoping to get that on today. #quiltsky

This was a kit my family got me for Mother’s Day. It uses Riley Blake’s Pride and Prejudice line. I loved the book as a teen. I backed it with Morris and Co Strawberry Thief because it’s a fav and quilted it with a lily of the valley panto so it’s kind of a mash up of my favorite things. #quiltsky

This is a pair of quilts I made for my daughters’ besties. I used some Tula scraps I had leftover from other projects and bought additional to give me a variety of prints and colors. Cutting these triangles took forever!! I love the end results though. #quiltsky

This quilt was for my mom. She mentioned she saw a character in Yellowstone wrapped in a quilt. Not long after, some shops did a collaboration to make “Beth’s quilt”. I love that I got a wide variety of reds and blacks to help make it look like I’d been collecting fabrics for a long time. #quiltsky

This is the first quilt I made for myself. I saw the kit at a quilt show and had to have it. It is a blooming 9 patch in all Kaffe. This is the only quilt I didn’t quilt myself. I sent this off to be long-armed before I had my own machine. I was/am so proud of it! #quiltsky

This one was for my dad. I gifted my very first quilt to him and obviously it had its mistakes. I wanted to make him another once my skills advanced and I found this John Wayne quilt. He loves John Wayne and westerns so it was perfect and of course I had to find a cute pantograph to match! #quiltsky

Rather than quilting I spent some time using some of my scraps to make these Scandinavian stars this evening. I’m going to add a string so they can be hung to decorate. I thought they be fun to add to gifts. I’m happy to find another way to use some scraps. #quiltsky
