This year, Canada’s new government has built crucial new partnerships throughout the world. That means big new investments in Canadian industries, resources, and projects, and big new opportunities for Canadian workers and businesses.

We have so much opportunity in Canada — to create better jobs and a more independent economy, and build better futures for our grandchildren. I sat down with Global News last week to talk about how we're going to seize those opportunities and build Canada strong.

Today, we remember the fourteen young women whose lives were stolen at Polytechnique Montréal 36 years ago. Their names are a solemn reminder of the devastating toll of gender-based violence — and the responsibility that comes with our remembrance.

So did they mislead when they rose to register their vote under the call for technical problems with voting? They both said they had technical problems or a problem with the app. This contributes to the loss of trust in the political process.

I hope Mr. Reid works to fix the issue he had with the electronic voting app & that it wasn’t another 2018 loss of his shadow Ministry scenario (see Jan 2020 McLean’s article), because if it was, alleging problems with a voting system which undermines democracy has consequences.

This seems important.

The big wheel of progress on climate action never stops 💪🇨🇦 It was great to speak at the Durham Climate Roundtable at Durham Regional Headquarters this morning to provide an update on this year's Federal budget, and what it means in the fight against climate change!

Since 2015 the Federal Government has invested over $22 million in #Lanark #Frontenac infrastructure. That is real savings on municipal tax bills. Attended the Verona Remembrance Day Ceremony today with my father-in-law. At the end he placed a poppy on the RCAF wreath for his uncle Rodney Campsall, shot down over Germany in WWII. Our family remembers the sacrifice & we thank all those who continue to serve & work for peace.

Violet Femmes Friday in Almonte was amazing! A wonderful event for a very worthy cause that is so needed in #Lanark #Frontenac. Lanark County Interval House provides support to so many women & families. Now to get a comprehensive national strategy declaring IPV an epidemic!

Stopped by Rotary Women’s Fair in #carletonplace today. Thanked the volunteers & checked in with merchants. Small businesses are the backbone of our riding & tend to be first to feel a tightening economy, but they still give generously. $3,000 ➡️ #Lanark County Interval House ❤️

New Leaf Link is a wonderful program for adults with disabilities and very much needed in our rural riding so residents can have quality of life. Thank you to all the amazing volunteers that make this program possible! #frontenac

Great to stop in & visit with Central Frontenac Township staff & council at their open house yesterday in Sharbot Lake. Had a very nice tour of their new offices in a historic building. A super space where so many important services are being coordinated. #Frontenac
