pinned post!
Our

A new analysis finds that "the highway lobby employs hundreds of lobbyists, spends over $100 million every year, uses a full suite of advocacy tactics, and brings along public officials to keep us all in a car-dependent transportation system." UCS's

We didn't run a special Bike Bus yesterday, and that's mostly down to me being a bit burned out with everything generally, but some aspects of Bike Bus specifically. Any other ride leaders struggling to muster your same enthusiasm?

When I was a city transpo planner, if I spoke out on something another part of the city was doing, I’d be reprimanded at a minimum. Heck, if I spoke out on what a neighboring city was doing, it would be a breach of professional courtesy, and I’d limit my career. But fire and police can just vibe.

This may be Cambridge’s last large-scale opportunity to build more city, and it is blowing it. It starts with the proposed 4,600 (!) parking spaces in yet more above ground garages, but that’s not all.

Such a huge loss. A champion in car racing, lost both legs above the knee in a crash, and became a multiple gold medalist in handcycling. Always smiling.

I am not a financial advisor, yadda yadda, but I would submit to you fine people that it's never been a better time-- not since February 2020 or, you know, some time in 2008- to reallocate a BUNCH of your investment assets, if you have them, into fixed-income, bonds, β<1, or even β<0 products.
