I am sober 16 months now. I work in the alcohol industry. And that is why I am sober. I can't say more than that for now, but trust me when I say I will one day. I applaud everyone who is sticking to Dry January and beyond.

Something they don't tell you about losing a loved one: Some nicknames, you earn in life, some you're born with and given by family out of family love. What they don't warn you about is how it feels to realize after a loved one passes that no one will ever call you by their nickname for you again.

Hey big PSA for LA friends. Please, please get yourself a HEPA air purifier ASAP, especially if you have pets. I have lung damage from long term exposure to smoke and my cats have asthma that has cost me a lot in very bills. And this smoke is not normal smoke; it's burnt chemicals & buildings, etc.

My body feels heavy and I'm choking back tears. I hate what we've become. I have people on Threads calling me mentally ill for a post saying this isn't the time to attack California for politics, it's a time for empathy. I don't know how the future I had so much hope for as a kid became so ugly.

Threads removed my link to my profile here. It is maddening to me that about a month ago, I had a MAGA screaming that I must love censorship since I voted blue and that Elon and the billionaire club are here to get rid of censorship. This is the worst timeline.

I've had my threads removed when I said Christians were being silly for getting upset at the Olympics opening ceremony, but when I have had men call me mentally ill, they have left the posts up. Over and over and over. Well here's Meta's policy on it. They're saying the quiet part out loud.

Meta literally created a LGBTQ exception for calling someone mentally ill as an insult. You can't do it for any other group except LGBTQ people.

A woman, while not unhoused, maybe not wholly present with us, was just walking through the Ralphs parking lot screaming to everyone and no one in particular, "I just watched a show about California and this state is beautiful." 1/ #story
