I haven't head anything that would make me excited about this proposed data center. They've given feel good remarks about community & assurances about being environmentally safe, but it's all smoke & mirrors as far as I can tell. It's extractive, environmentally reckless, and economically sterile.

Capped off the weekend at Discovery for some skiing and snowboarding with the family. Super fun to get out on the slopes again after a couple months recovering from an MCL injury.

God it was unbelievable watching Japan deliver the highest score ever seen in the Free Skate, especially after their heartbreaking performance in the Short Program. Just unflinching perfection from start to finish. Congrats to Japan on winning their first Figure Skating Pairs gold!

Update: I finished my first 2 books of the year! On Tyranny felt like a pamphlet warning me of a bomb that was already mid-explosion, which is terrifying. The Emperor's Soul was solid. Syntactically simple, but philosophically enjoyable. It makes me curious how longer Sanderson books will be.

I'm proud to join 280 state lawmakers in urging congress not to pass any AI preemption laws. Just wrapped up a productive week in the Law & Justice Interim Committee, where I serve as vice-chair. We spent the week looking at ways to improve our Youth Court laws, as well as ways to help police departments weed out job applicants with disqualifying misconduct in their previous police work.

This Trans Day of Remembrance, my heart hurts thinking of all the people we couldn't carry through to the other side of this moment in history. Amidst all the fighting we've done for our community, amidst the unshakeable belief that we will win in the end, grief still takes hold.
