Second direct witness to Alex Pretti's killing comes forward. Court declaration: "I saw him yelling at the ICE agents, but I did not see him attack the agents or brandish a weapon of any kind. Suddenly, an ICE agent shoved him to the ground." 🧵

You have to read this. Firsthand affidavit from one of the women who was there and recording the video. She talks about how Alex Pretti was directing traffic when she arrived. She watched him be killed in front of her. She's afraid to go home, worried she'll be arrested.

Media keeps describing Pretti as a “protester” - “why bring a gun to a protest” - but he was something much more akin to a community-based first responder for ICE sightings. He likely wasn’t expecting to get beaten in the street by them or have any violent encounter. Just observe and alert.

Yes - they all know this could happen and they do it anyway. The reason it’s so unambiguous what happened is that the call had gone out and many people instantly rushed to the scene. Running towards danger. Heroes

Pretti clearly did not brandish his gun. Which means the government is saying he was killed for legally exercising his right to carry. It’s as clear-cut a violation of the Second Amendment as I can possibly imagine. And we’re about to see the bulk of the gun rights crowd defend his murder.

This is even worse for tech executives or anyone who spends time in and around software engineering. LLMs are truly transformative in SWE and struggling for adoption everywhere other than as bad companions.

They are targeting children because they are trying incite violence. I have talked to many journalists today, and they all made the same observation: Border Patrol and ICE have been rolling around with maximum aggression, lingering for ages as crowds, gather, seemingly trying to cause a riot.

I try to avoid hyperbole when it comes to Trump policies, but this is absolutely frickin’ insane—on about eleventy different levels. Massive, systemic Fourth Amendment violations because … reasons.
